The Passing of a Matriarch

It is with a sad heart that I announce the passing of my grandmother Nellie Makokis Carlson. She passed away on September 10, 2020 at the age of 93. She was a wonderful grandma who fried the best bannock and her unrelenting advocacy for Indian Rights for Indian Women was a huge inspiration to me. She was, in fact, the reason I began advocating for God as Mother. Her funeral during these strange covid days was kept small with family attending. I miss you, grandma. All my love, XOXO.
